Position Overview
An established pediatric dental practice in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join a busy and well-organized clinical team.
This role is ideal for an EFDA who is confident in their clinical skills, enjoys working with children, and values being part of a team that prioritizes efficiency, structure, and a positive patient experience. You’ll play an important role in supporting providers and helping maintain a smooth and productive clinical schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Perform expanded functions duties in accordance with state regulations
- Assist dentists during pediatric procedures and restorative treatments
- Prepare and break down operatories efficiently between patients
- Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols
Patient Care
- Help create a positive and comfortable experience for children and families
- Communicate clearly with patients and parents throughout visits
- Support patient education and reinforce preventive care
Clinical Workflow
- Support an efficient clinical schedule and patient flow
- Ensure operatories are fully prepared for procedures
- Work closely with providers and team members to maintain a smooth daily rhythm
Qualifications
- EFDA certification (required)
- Previous experience in a dental practice (pediatric experience preferred)
- Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with both children and parents
