Financial Coordinator


Position Summary

An established pediatric dental practice is seeking a Financial Coordinator to join our administrative team. This position is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the practice by ensuring payments are posted accurately, accounts remain balanced, patient ledgers remain current, and outstanding claims are followed through to resolution.

The Financial Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining the financial accuracy of the practice while providing excellent service to patients and supporting the administrative team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in payment posting, account reconciliation, claims follow-up, and patient account management.


Responsibilities

• Post insurance and patient payments accurately and timely

• Review and apply Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)

• Balance and reconcile patient accounts

• Maintain accurate patient ledgers and financial records

• Monitor outstanding claims and follow up as necessary

• Research claim delays, denials, and payment discrepancies

• Process claim corrections when needed

• Generate patient statements and assist with billing inquiries

• Process account adjustments and refunds

• Follow up on unpaid balances and outstanding accounts

• Communicate with patients regarding account balances and payment responsibilities

• Assist with daily balancing and financial reporting

• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and office financial policies

• Assist with additional administrative duties as needed


Qualifications

• Previous experience in dental billing, financial coordination, or dental office administration preferred

• Experience posting insurance and patient payments

• Experience balancing and reconciling accounts

• Knowledge of EOBs and claims follow-up procedures

• Familiarity with Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, or similar dental software

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
